had I but world enough, and time | 12.15.06

…I’d read these books that I saw at work today. An except from the reading wishlist of a librarian who knows that she’ll never be able to read everything she wants to in only one lifetime!

+ Ambient Findability – Peter Morville (adult, nonfiction, software design, web design, usability) Recommended by a new co-worker (but old classmate), this book’s “central thesis is that information literacy, information architecture, and usability are all critical components of this new world order. Hand in hand with that is the contention that only by planning and designing the best possible software, devices, and Internet, will we be able to maintain this connectivity in the future.” You know you are a geek if you read that and say, “Yum!”
