Now that we’re nearing the middle of the challenge, it’s a good time to review how Camp NaNoWriMo is going so far.
Honestly, I thought April would be a good month to do NaNo going into it, but turns out it’s been a really hard month to get any writing done. I started out behind because the time I planned to spend prepping at the end of March ended up going towards recovering from a slight injury. (Thanks, pain meds and muscle relaxers. All those naps are time I won’t get back again!) The month has turned out to be really busy generally so I’ve been hopping over to GoodReads, finding reviews that never made it here, expanding them slightly, and moving them over each day. According to the rules I set myself, it isn’t cheating because it’s teaching me that I need to be responsible for posting at least something each day.
I have not been able to write ahead of time, so I’m scrounging around each day to make that day’s post work. Not ideal.
Still, I will keep going even after the end of April so that I can get a few posts ahead so that each day isn’t so much pressure.
If you’re doing NaNoWriMo, I hope you’re also keeping up with your daily goals! Even if you’re behind, don’t quit. Just keep going. That’s more important than anything else.
